Beckam's First Birthday Party!!!

Beckam's theme was Zoo Animals, so we partied like animals at the Hogle Zoo. We decided to make him a lion cake. He knows what sound a lion makes, so he looked at his cake and growled.

It's a tradition every year for each of my kids birthday's to home-make their cake. Julie and I partner up and have so much fun! She cut the cake out, and I frosted. Then we both added finishing touches to it. This year we got started on it late so we were up really late finishing it. The later it got, the more hysterically I was laughing at everything!! Julie even painted the number one backwards- we we're so slap happy. But she pulled out her magic tricks and you can't even tell.

Beckam and daddy enjoying the sunshine on this PERFECT day!

Tyler, Beckam, Amanda, Steele, Brooklyn

Beckam couldn't keep his chubby little hands off his cake!

Jason lighting the candle. The wind kept blowing it out, so Beckam didn't have to. But, that's okay it was a welcomed breeze.

Time for presents.
This is the handywork of Aunt Sue. So cute!

Beckam was getting very sleepy, but Brooklyn had fun with his presents anyway!

Beckam got a kick out of the airplane from Aunt Sue.

Uncle Tyler and Beckam

Dristin, Daidree, Triff, Bella, Chelsi, Brooklyn Aliah, Yvette, AManda, Mom, Treva

Jason and his twin brother, Tyler.
Nothing has changed in 28 years!

On the carousel...Beckam got a little winded, but Brooklyn (in her serious and cautious way) loved it!

This was her first choice- "the princess chair". But then we moved to a Hippo. The Hippo was so much faster :)

Chelsi, Treva, Yvette, Aliah, Triff, Daidree, and Baby Bella

Check out the newest little exhibit! He was so cute, I took him home with me.

Beckam was amazed by the giraffe's! He stared so intensely at them. He loved everything as he took it all in!
Yes! Brownie points for mommy choosing the zoo as the birthday location.

Still staring at the giraff's and playing with Papa at the same time.
Beckam ended up falling asleep up there on Papa's shoulders- how does that happen?

I love animal prints of every kind so I had to get a close up of the giraff. all the other animals sleep in bushes or behind rocks so you can never get close up enough for a good picture.

Taking a pit-stop

Squirrel!

Mike, Steele, Ty, Jason
What a handsome bunch!

Singing as she strolled along the park!
Thank you everyone who came, it was so fun. Everything was perfect (except family and friends who couldn't be with us of course!)
Happy Birthday to the sweetest little boy I know!

Trouble Maker's

Caught in the act-
I had just cleaned out and organized the diaper bag when suddenly...the cracker monster got to it! Does this look like the face of an intentional disaster? He was obviously enjoying his mess.
Brooklyn got herself dressed and ready to go for our walk. We ended up two miles from home in a rainstorm. Rain is my favorite, so I had tons of fun. Brooklyn kept trying to wipe off each rain drop and said the sprinklers were chasing us.

Beckam is a picky eater and hardly ever eats all of his food. Brooklyn found his full jar of food sitting on the table and took it upon herself to be his mommy and feed it to him. He ate the whole jar for her! How does that work? Now whenever I have to feed him, I call for Brooklyn to come help me.
Did you know there was a certain position you HAVE to sit in when you roll the ball? Well, there is and Brooklyn makes sure we are in it everytime we play.

Beckam rockin' out

Sunday, May 3, 2009

Papa rocked little man to sleep...so sweet.

Beckam loves his newfound independence teaching himself how to walk.

BYU Graduation

The three graduates: Tyler, Steele, Amanda (Jason's brotheres and sister)
Congratualations to all three of you!! We love you!
Amanda with her diploma. woo-hoo!

Brooklyn occupied herself in the aisle dancing. She said she was doing "ballet".

The grads with Brooklyn...foreshadowing her future as a BYU Grad!

Brooklyn loves her Uncle "Stiko"

This is a good group to know. They are some of the greatest people I know.

Brooklyn coloring a Yo Gabba Gabba coloring book from Aunt Sue. Aunt Sue came armed with fruit snacks, coloring books, cookies, and all. Thanks Aunt Sue!

The two cutest boys on the planet!

I just love his little crossed ankles in this picture. He sat that way the entire time he ate that cracker.

A Hoppy Easter

The Easter Bunny was nice enough to hop by. Brooklyn, of course, wouldn't go near him with a 10 foot pole, but Beckam was very interested.
Some of my neices and nephews couldn't stop hugging him, others wanted nothing to do with him...until he left...then they wanted him back.

Beckam found Brooklyn's Easter basket after the Easter egg hunt. He dug right in!

She didn't mind that her basket was empty...he even got a hug! (Although it looks like it was quite painful for her to do it.)

I was so proud of Brooklyn for going down this particular slide. This slide is the kiss of death really. It shoots kids off the end of it and sends them into outer space! So, yes, I had to hover a little bit.

And up she goes again

The Easter egg hunt at Grandma Kay's is very competitive among all the grandkids.

B-Kate on the hunt!

Easter Sunday in our Easter dress-ups

Beckam sporting his Easter clothes.

Brooklyn and her baby that the Easter Bunny brought her. Mommying is Brooklyn's favorite thing to do- if it's not Beckam, it's this baby...or daddy.

Align Center I don't know why this one came in sideways, but this was right before church.

This was as still as it got during Easter devotional.

Playing with the loot. Brooklyn got a new children's Bible. She puts them in her scripture bag and takes them to church with her.
