The Lamb and Wool Festival

We geared up and went to the Lamb and Wool festival. It was right down the street so we thought we'd give it a try.
We got some Navajo tacos (Yum!), but it was so freezing cold outside that we hid inside the pretend ol' ballet studio to get out of the wind- and there we sat and ate. Kids were walking by us staring at us through the windows.

Here's the star of the show himself, Mr. Lamb.
His "groomer" was shaving off his wool coat with electric razors, then showed us how they used to do it back in the day with cutting shears. You can see his wool just laying across the ground.
I was surprised to see how good the lamb's were when they had to get shaved. My own kids don't sit that still.

The naked lamb up close

Beckam's reaction to the lamb- he just wanted to pet it.

Brooklyn's reaction to the lamb

...and look at grandma's face in reaction to the lamb. So funny!

My little snuggle-bear being snuggly (or maybe just freezing)

I think these guys are so funny looking. I have to laugh every time!

Look how sweet this mommy is watching over her baby! She stood directly over her baby the entire time that it slept, and as soon as it woke up the mommy hugged it with her neck and turned her body in just the right position for the baby to eat. They both just knew exactly what to do- and the mom knew exactly how to comfort her baby with all these people around. It was tender!

Monga and Papa on the wagon ride...a very cold, cold ride.

Uncle Steele and Brooklyn

Aunt Amanda and Aunt Ciera

Brooklyn loved the conveyor belt with all the fake produce.
She wouldn't let go of her little box with celery, cucumbers, and strawberries inside.

Brooklyn catching all the cards at the end of the conveyor belt.

Jaden and Brooklyn just doing a little grocery shopping.

Here is Beckam as the animal whisperer

I think this is the same animal that gave Beckam a little head-butt and it scared him half to death. He thinks animals are the kindest and coolest things in the world- and one bonked him on the head. It hurt his feelings more than it actually hurt him.

Off to dinner!

We came home from a long day for yet another dance in the kitchen, cookies, and ice cream.

Seeing Steele dance just had to be caught on camera!
At least his wife can help him out now :)

The Dinosaur Museum Excursion

We watched Jason's little cousin, Jaden, for a week while his mommy and daddy went on a dreamy vacation to the Caribbean. The kid's played and played. I think Beckam was so excited to wake up to a playmate everyday. "Jaden" was often the first thing out of his mouth when I went to get him out of his crib in the morning's.

So cute!

They crashed while watching a movie. It was naptime for Beckam anyway, so I let them have some quiet time and watch a movie, but it turns out they needed a nap too.

On our way to the Dinosaur Museum. Happiness all around.

This is Beckam at the ankle of a dinosaur display

And this is him acting like a dinosaur :)

Jaden being a well-poised little boy

This is the most fascinating part of the whole museum. The skeleton structure of a supersaurus.
If you try to look, you can see the neck goes on forever before the little skull of a head is noticed. The tail goes on even longer than the neck. It's impossible to get it all without a panoramic camera. You can't help but feel so tiny and inferior standing next to this thing. Did this gigantic creature actually roam the earth? The map shows that it lived in the Montana area- crazy! It's seriously monstrous.

The kids are now building a dinosaur...

The pieces are so heavy, Beckam is straining just to hold the leg!
I thought he was being a little wimp until I walked over there and tried picking it up myself. Yup, it was heavy.

Brooklyn looking for "sugar bugs" in his mouth.

This is what Brooklyn puts on for the tail. It looks more like a stinger.

Here they are digging for dinosaurs in the river thing (for lack of a better word :)
Chlorinated water runs through it and the kids build dam's and pools, and whatever else they feel like building.

Beckam preparing to chuck the sand across the room- again. It hit a lady and although it was kind of funny, I had to get after him for it.

Being a dirt, mud, and water kind of kid, this is a blast for Beckam.

As I saw him walking toward me in his apron, I couldn't help but think of E.T. when he comes out in that little dress that hits the floor.

Don't even think about it Beckam!

Here's Monga, my sidekick for the day. Thank goodness she was with me or my kid's would have been lost...maybe on purpose. Beckam didn't get a nap this day so when he wasn't totally preoccupied with something, he was screaming in my ears. Hence the previous comment :)

I find the dinosaur time period with its many different era's totally bizarre but really fascinating. They seem so unrealistic and pointless, violent and incredible. They are creatures I just can't put a reason to, but I don't have to so I won't.

Digging for dinosaur bones in the sandbox.
He would trip over a bone as he's walking and look back at it like "where in the world did that come from?"

Who knew piling sand into Grandma's hand would be so much fun?

Jaden's most comfortable position to sit in. He will sit like that for really long periods of time.

Grandma's always in the dirt playing right alongside the kids.
She's such a kind and giving grandma. My kid's are lucky to have two fantastic grandma's!

The ring-leader teaching the boys to jump as high as they can off the rocks!
Beckam even did it, and he doesn't ever really get off the ground when he jumps.

I love how the wind fluffed his hair straight up!

The end of our dinosaur excursion...until the next time...and the next time...and the next time!
